These are the Depressed Alphabet in 3D prototypes, unfired and unpainted. They are just over 20cm in height, and each have a little sad story attached. I have just made the final mould, and then roll them out. These will be on exhibition and for sale at some point in the future. I will post them on my website as I finish them.

Here's the Pirates vs Chiefs Dream Tree finally finished. It's taken centre stage in the middle of my garden, surrounded by it's own little forest. (click to see 360° view)

Below is the plan for my Pirates vs Chiefs Dream Tree. And no, it won’t be up for sale in the shop as it’s over two metres high, and took me more than a year to finish. So there won’t be another one!

Below is the first in series of sculptures I’m doing based on some of my characters. This one is called Dead Dog. And a version of it will be available in the shop once I have solved a few mold problems!

So I took a loan to studied Graphic Design at the local Tech instead. And while my classmates was busy getting sprayed purple at some protest march this good Afrikaans girl was happily kerning some type.

After qualifying - for I’m still not sure what - I fell into advertising. And as the saying goes, what doesn’t kill you, makes you stranger. Still, it was better than working for Sanlam.

So I drank a lot of red wine, worked stupid hours, collected some awards and sometimes even did an Illustration or 2 on the side.

But, like all agency creatives I was always plotting my escape. Get out. Do my own thing. A few years ago after my first child I finally gathered up the courage to escape the security of a regular pay check and medical aid (thank you Damon!) to set up on my own.

And now here we are...
